Just read this on Facebook and thought some of you might be interested. I might subscribe-if nothing else, Bumble likes to chew on magazines!

Oh, wow, thank you!

That mag used to be one of my most savored treasures. The Rickeybird was in some issues (letters to editor, survey responses, etc.) in the 80s-90s). They're in his Scrapbook (actual and digital). I was so proud. How I LOVED that mag. I grieved when it disappeared.

WOWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Yessss!

OMG, I haven't read Bird Talk for decades, and actually have some very old issues in a box that hasn't been touched in 15 to 20 years!

I saw that, too! Love the big black palm they have on the cover, what a wonderful species to have representing the return of the magazine!

I am so excited! I still have mine packed away from years ago, and was given a huge stack last year by someone from the bird club. I can't wait to start adding new issues!

I saved ALL my BirdTalk magazines. lol. It's the ONLY magazine I've ever had a paid subscription for. lol.

I was heartbroken when they went under.

I just checked the new site- the price for the print subscription seems reasonable (considering you pay $4-7 for a print magazine in a store), provided its full of good info and not half or 3/4 junk/ads but it appears from the site its 100% genuine content.

But I think $25 for a digital subscription is a bit pricey (considering its only 6 issues a year). But they are starting from scratch, so they need the financial assistance.

Not sure if I'll do digital or print- going to think about it, but likely going to subscribe.

I heard how good bird talk used to be so I'm very interested.

But guys... what more could we know than we do on here? The collective knowledge of this forum would put a magazine to shame, surely?

Maybe we should do a guest column ;-)

True but I bet there will be lots of pretty pictures!

So excited for the return of Bird Talk! I have many old magazines saved, and the birds love to chew on the pages as I read them!

So now I'm thinking - should I get 'bird talk' as well as 'parrots magazine'...
I wonder if the other half would notice if I started collecting it too...

This makes me very happy. I still have copies from 2004 that are on my shelf that Baby likes to chew and makes good chewing material. He was only in a small portion of a Q&A article about 'tiels but he can have a small Bird Talk Award. :smile022:

Dunno folks, I just bought a copy at P.S. store, it was mostly advertising, and very basic info readily available here, the difference being the info here is upto date, backed by folks who have no ajenda ( selling birds, cages, food toys or training/services). Some of the events advertised were for ones 2yrs old. I even found myself in disagreement on some points, based on my own experiences and that of some well respected people on Parrot Forums ( the bird one, not the drone one). My take: Save your money for a larger cage or more toys for your fid, and start contributing here.
