I was looking through my photos to find a couple to post in other threads, & got caught up looking at baby pictures of Button. Here are some of my favorites, & I’d love to see your baby pics too!

Button was mostly white as a baby. After his first big molt, he started getting his yellow feathers. He had yellow polka dots for a short time. 🥰

Nameliss at a sweet nearly 4 mo and 10 mo vet visits. Hard to believe that was 2 decades ago! She was saying her name at 5 months.

This is my first baby, Rocky, on hatch day. I had never hand raised any creature and was surprised her egg even hatched! Rocky was peeping from inside her egg the day she hatched. All i could think was OMG! What do I do with this 2 gram helpless baby budgie? Learn really fast how to feed it! Fortunately I was prepared and Rocky had a great appetite. in 30 days she was a fully feathered bird!

Frankly I'd been afraid of hurting this little helpless bundle!

I didn't have much choice after she broke free of her egg. Either I try to feed her or she would die. I was so nervous for her first feeding. I had prepared as well as I could by reading everything I could find on how to do it without killing the tiny thing but I was pretty scared. However, it was amazing how strong her feeding response was. I just held her head between my thumb and forefinger with her bottom resting on my palm and as soon as I touched her beak to the edge of the little baby spoon of formula she started swallowing and kept swallowing as her crop filled which only took a couple minutes at first. I think the key was feeding her in an upright position so she didn't choke, not using a syringe, having an incubator that kept her at the right temperature, and feeding every two hours around the clock. They grow incredibly fast when they get enough food. As fragile as they look, a healthy hatchling is pretty strong. She was able to hold her head up herself during feeding at two days old.
