I went to a pet shop yesterday (one which I actually hate because they keep their birds in cages a bazillion times too small, it makes me want to take them all home with me!) and anyway they had a black capped lory and he was GORGEOUS!

He was $1000 (a little out of my price range :|) and not hand raised, but I was wondering if any one has one? Or any experience with one?
I sat there chatting with him and he started to hop around and made the funniest noises!

Are they related to lorikeets? And sorry if this is the wrong section for this but I honestly can't find much information about them.
I really think that I would like to add one to our flock! :)

Black -capped lories are active birds that have an impressive mimicking ability. They are nectar eaters in which a large portion of their diet is liquid. I've worked with lories but never personally owned one myself, but they are popular and have a large fan base.
