Hi I put sushi to sleep last night and I did put her to sleep in a smaller cage than normal just to test it out. (She has my whole room throughout the day) and when I woke her up her nose has some dried blood. She does have a vet appointment on Wednesday, but should I try to take her tomorrow instead?

As today is Sunday your options are probably limited.
I don’t have a vet open on Sunday.
I would call first thin in am Monday and see if they will move up the apt.

Vet ASAP. Time is always of the essence when it comes to birds.

Please keep us updated.

Update: Vet said that the redness looks like she’s lacking some vitamin a (she’s not a good pellet eater) and gave me a list of vegetables & fruits that have vitamin a

I told them that I think sushi got hurt from the cage and she said it could be that too but she needs some more vitamin a

I’m glad you took her in. It looked to me like she has rubbed her nose on something and it was raw. But vitamin A can be low in birds that aren’t eating a lot of fresh food.

Peppers, especially hot hot peppers are great source of Vit A. Totally safe for parrots, my Amazon LOVES his peppers.

I tried to introduce peppers and sushi didn’t like them ! She is picky so far the only vegetables she will eat is broccoli, carrots, cucumbers and Roman lettuce

I get my birds to eat peppers by making sure to include the SEEDS of the pepper-either giving the bell pepper core or a slice or halved small hot pepper they can pick the seeds out of.

Gotcha! I should try that out! Another thing is that sushi doesn’t pay attention to bird chop she likes the veggies as they are
