Bonding possibly

So today I let pilot out of her cage and as some of you know, she dosen't step up onto my hand and in order for her to let me hold her I have to pick her up with a shirt. Well today she perched on my hand, the shirt was still on it and I don't even know if she knew what she was doing but I was so happy. And then we watched budgie videos for a bit

Wonderful! Don't be discouraged if there are still days when she doesn't do this. A couple of my Budgies have gone through periods when they were a little distant, then they started getting closer to me or sitting on my hands again.

currently while I'm doing my summer school work (from home) Pilot is sitting on my bed next to me watching everything I'm doing, she seems content and even looked like she was gonna fall asleep a little bit ago, Im playing music and shes silent, and I hope this makes her realize that I'm not gonna hurt her, because I'm not even messing with her because I don't want to scare her, shes a good budgie, and I love her, although things are a bit complicated and she rarely lets my hand near her without the shirt but shes doing ok right now, and just so you guys know I just picked her up with the shirt and then let go of it and shes just laying in the shirt she keeps looking like shes gonna fall asleep. I love giving her time out of her cage, but I have to keep an eye on her.

I think one thing that helped my bond with Primor was disregarding him at times.
I'd pretend that I was not paying attention to him and let him just hang out and do his thing...

I set her down on my lap a bit ago and she stayed there and played with my shorts for a bit

so what your telling us is you're doing everything right and it's working.....ok Yep that's what happens when you're patient and a good bird owner.

It's a good sign if she will stay near you and preen herself, stand/perch on one foot, relax in your shirt, click/clack her beak. A terrified, anxious bird would not do those things.

He loves being talked to but he tries to bite when offered a finger. He gets a gleam in his eyes and does his "about to bite" beak. When I touch his things for cleaning or feeding he clicks his beak and tries to bite. But he will gladly hop aboard when he's gotten himself in a jam. He is a feisty free spirit so we take things slowly and appreciate the little things. Ironically, he likes to be handfed and only eats most veggies from between two sacrificial fingers. I think he enjoys the thrill of danger. Today he nibbled beef gelatin from between said fingers. We like to live on the edge. We like meat with our veggies. Tiny dinosaurs need fresh tasty finger flesh. It's delicious. Chirp tweet. Cute poopsies. Fluffity chomp.
