There was a hoarding situation here in Cheyenne and I got this as a pair, they said they were the same species and wouldn't let me take just one. But this seems to be a lutino red rumped parakeet right?

They have been housed together with me a couple weeks, and they are both so very sweet and docile. If I split them they will be lonely. What are your thoughts on that?

I've never even heard of bourkes and I'm in love with him. He's a male right? He's so gentle and soft. Any advice for either birds? The red rumped acts like a baby

Oh @YUMgrinder, thank you for taking these sweeties in, they lovely! If it was me I'd keep them together unless they actually do start getting aggressive with each other. If one of them turns out to be a hen you may get "issues" as a result of that which could of course be problematic. But other than that, if they're buddies I'd be trying to keep them together, they're so precious!

If they get along famously, I'd keep them together, also. Congratulations on the new adoptions!

Congrats on new fids:)

On the first picture it seems to be small for a red-rumped parrot but I think it's just an illusion because it really looks like one when I look at its plumage.

I'm also for keeping them together as long as they get long. I heard that Bourkes are afraid of red-rumped parrots but I believe it isn't always true (you would already know it if it was a thing between your birds😅). I have experience only with Bourkes, so I don't have any comparison, so my knowledge on red-rumped parrots is only what I read on Internet and a very little observation of someone's birds... but tbh I think that out of all parrots they have the most similar character to Bourkes (or at least among species with the most similar character), so I hope they will get along. Of course there are differences, also it depends on the individual personality because not every bird of one species is the same
