Breeders in Houston Area

Hi folks,

So I'm planning on getting an African Grey, and I've been in contact with a breeder in Austin, TX named JC Aviary. Anyone ever do business, or know of anyone who has gotten a bird (not just a Grey) from this breeder? From our contact, I feel very comfortable, but I just wanted to get other's opinions. He originally had Congos which were to be ready for their new homes as of yesterday, and now he has Timnehs to be ready in mid July. They are now selling for $1850

Just yesterday, I managed to come across a breeder right here in Houston. I don't know why I didn't learn of this place when I started my original search. Anyway, the name of the store is A Parrot's Cove. They are located in northwest Houston. I reached out to them, and their baby Greys are $2,000. Has anyone done business with either of these breeders?

Also, any suggestions or advice on dealing with a breeder for a first timer like myself would be much appreciated.

I have a sennie from them. They aren't the breeders. They get the birds from a breeder and then raise them themselves. There's another bird store here in town called Adventures in Birds

Thanks Karen! Wait, is your name Karen, or is that just your handle? Ha ha! Oh, and thanks for the heads up on Adventures in Birds. I'll thoroughly check out their site when I get to work this evening.

What was your experience with the other store where you got your sennie?

Hmm, Adventures in Birds is much less expensive than both the other two.
