I am new to breeding birds and just got a pair of breeding lutino ringneck parakeets. I just have a few questions. When do they start breeding? I live in south florida and they are outside. How many do they have in a clutch and how many clutches do they have a year. I also have 3 pairs of cockatiels, so answer the same questions for them too. Thank you very much

Ringnecks will breed year round at any point in the year the breed 2 to 3 times a year. They are ready to breed at 1 year old. They usually have 4 to 6 eggs in a clutch. Not all eggs are 100 percent going to live some might die. All this is the same for the cockatiels.

Thanks for the info, my cockatiels just laid eggs a week ago. I know have 7 eggs. Now i am just waiting on my Ringnecks and Conures.
Thanks a lot

Are you working with a good Avian Vet? Are you planning on letting the parents raise the clutch?

I let the parents raise them to about 18 days old, then start hand feeding them.
