Budgie started his first molt! But he bites so much!!

Hello! Dee is finally in his first molt, he is a beautiful sea green color now
Despite his beautiful exterior my sweet Budgie who would snuggle, and kiss has now become a sassy biting little monster. WHOM I STILL LOVE VERY MUCH!
But like... Like 50% of the time I go to give kisses he bites me, is this because of the molting? My face hurts, and so does my pride...

Must confess I know nothing of Budgies, but molting might make typically sweet Dee a biting tyrant. Unsure when puberty hits, might also be hormonal issues.

For future reference (this is an old thread), budgies will get defensive when molting because their flight is limited, they are tired, and molting just hurts.
