budgie with injured wing

Budgie has injured wing. on bottom of cage. Is drinking with help but not eating. We are keeping her warm. quiet and in semi darkness.Local vets know little about budgies and have a reputation for putting them down and I am not sure the bird could travel. Can anyone help especially with the not eating.

Is the wing broken? Is the bird holding the wing out, or folded in? Try millet. Any bird will eat millet, if it can. Keep food/water bowls low and within easy reach. Injured and/or sick birds do not eat much. Keep it warm, and don't let it get excited or move around too much.

When you say injured wing, as in broken? You have to go to a vet regardless cause you have secondary infection you have to worry about along with blood clot so fourth so on. It can get worse if not cared for soon! Find avian vet near by city and bring him in if you want to save him as we're not vets here and can only offer limited advice!

when my budgie got sick i syringed honey water down his throat, he didn't eat anything other than that for 3 days and he is fine now, i just hope your budgie is ok
