Just got done working with Jasper trying to meet his needs in order to get to his food dishes. Moved some perches and some toys out of his way. He is still a little unsure getting around in the cage. I suppose I should probably put him in there for a couple hours in the middle of the day or something. He spends his whole day out of the cage.

I used the spoon to try to coax him to his dishes and used that to judge how he was going to move and what needed to be changed. I finally got him on the perch next to his food dish by putting him there and then he turned around and went "hey..there's my food"..he's pigging out so I'm hoping he will remember where it is now. That's my biggest worry with him right now is finding the food and getting enough to eat.

I think it would be a good idea for him to spend some more time in the cage. He needs to learn how to get around it and how to find things. Plus he probably needs to develop his climbing skills.

Yeah he's alot different than Tico. I'm used to Tico going in and out of his cage at his own leisure. He goes in to eat and to play or just to nap when he wants.

We still have to put Mickey in the cage during the day....he will climb all over the outside, and play, but won't go in to eat...so I put him in, and he does the same thing "oh, so that's where we left the food" and will pig out....silly birds, it was there the whole time.

Breakfast he found without trouble but I left him in until he ate. I think he had been napping and in his cage when I switched that out with lunch/pellet mix. He just woke up from another nap on the door perch and is peeping at me..silly thing..over here.."oh yeah omnomnom"..
