We are getting a baby Quaker and I am wondering if we should get a cage with a play top? I have heard that they can be cage aggressive if the play top is on the cage. A play area is a must and I am just not sure if we should get a cage with a built-in play area or a separate cage and play area. Advice? Thanks!

You can do either. I have a playtop cage that has food and water bowls. My quaker is food territorial. Still, it give her another place to perch. Having multiple play areas is important. I also build PVC stand-alone perches. This allows my bird to perch in front of a window or next to my desk. I even have a little desktop perch I build from PVC. Use 1/2" tubing for the perch part. I use 1" tubing for the floor base.
