CAGs arent the only bird that can swim.

My husband & I took our boat to the river today & we found a baby crow swimming in the middle of the river. He had probably fell from the bridge above the river. I couldnt believe it. If he had any sense of direction he may have made it out on his own. I got him out & put him in some tall grass on the bank. He was fully feathered, but still had that hungry beak thing going on. I went back about 45 minutes later & he was gone. I'm praying that he was able to fend for himself. The bank was isolated, so there was no people or dogs around. I almost took him w/us, but I was very afraid of what I could bring home to merlin. It was amazing seeing him swim thru the water. If he fell from the bridge, he fell over 80'. If any bird deserved to live, this brave soul did. I'm going to think of him going to his nest mates & telling of his adventure. :41:

I would have taken him home and set him up on the deck or garage, then I would have taken him to the University of Minnesota Raptor Center.

I bet it was tempting to take the little fella home, can you imagine being the owner of a crow? Or maybe it would be more liked, owned by a crow.

I bet he hopped along and made it to a safe spot to dry off, flew away, and found his family.

There was a pet crow in the neighborhood when I was growing up. Everyone hated him, he stold tools, clothespins, anything not nailed down. He had a secret stash place, his owner never found any of his loot. lol I always thought he was very cool.

I would have taken him home and set him up on the deck or garage, then I would have taken him to the University of Minnesota Raptor Center.

We had decided b4 we went back to take him to the raptor center thats only a few miles from there. I have taken owls there b4, its a great place. If only I could know for sure that he was ok.
