So i have a 6yo female budgie who is having respiratory problems (making wheezing sounds) and my vet prescribed antibiotics.

Today is the 6th day im giving it to her, and in the past times i noticed that she had weird behavior after swallowing it but i tought she was just stressed (shes a very scared bird) but today she had a SEIZURE right after, she was flapping her wings, and had no control in her legs and body, and had a weird look on her face, i was very scared thinking she would die but after a few minutes she got better (i put her in a warm/safe place) and is now sleeping on her cage.

It was during night time (around 8pm) and no vet was disponible at the time.

Obviously im going to a vet tomorrow but i would like to hear some opinions and calm myself a bit because im nervous and having trouble sleeping. Before that she was kinda fine, less energetic than usual which is probably because of the respiratory issue, but she was eating and drinking water, and even flying sometimes. Im very lost right now because i have no idea about what happened there.

A few monhts ago i had a budgie (female as well and same age) with even worse respiratory issues symptoms, but she got better with the antibiotics, although later she had other problems due to it and i had to use probiotics, now thankfully shes 100% fine (i even posted about her here at the time)

Orally administered meds have to be given carefully, as parrots have both trachea and esophagus to crop in the same area of the mouth.

It's possible that her respiratory problems are not being caused by an infection. Shes at the age when a lot of budgies get tumors that can cause all sorts of problems that are similar to infections. Heart failure can also cause respiratory systems. Getting to the actual cause of respiratory distress requires a lot of expensive imaging. Prescribing antibiotics is a good first step in case the problem is caused by an infection you want to treat it quickly.
I have no idea why she seemed to have a seizure after she got her medicine. Being medicated is itself very stressful for the bird
