i know generally candles are a no no with birds. is there any way i can burn a yankee candle in my home, in a separate room maybe? if not, no big deal. just wondering, i have quite a collection. but cha cha comes first. :)

You think you have a collection? My wife got a Xmas gift of 30 of the small candles from Yankee . Can't use a one of them, they will be regifted.

They may make a nice outside decoration if you carefully placement so that you can see them burning outside a window. Always assure that any open flame is protected from starting a fire.

There is no such thing as a safe burning candle. Anything you see or hear is just Marketing.

Agreed, either candles or fids! Not worth making a mistake! But, I be a bit prejudice! I hate almost all scents!

Might be useful and look nice if you eat outdoors on a table etc?

You could always do what my mom does. She has quite a collection of candles, but in recent years has developed issues burning them. She doesn't have any fids, but has sinus and allergy issues. She uses them as last minute gifts when she needs one. As a hostess gift if she is invited for dinner, or like at Christmas if someone brings a new S/O that she wasn't told about. Or finds out last minute about a birthday.

Ah, candles, the gift that keeps on giving! Err, given!

You know, thinking about it, almost everyone I know, myself included, has candles, but I don't think I've really ever seen anyone burn them. We even have a couple sitting out to look pretty, but they are never burned.

My loo would look very bare without them LOL :)

There are the new flameless candles that are lovely. They have a flickering/wavering "flame" that look very real, plus the candle body is wax so they have the look and texture of a candle. They are always perfect since they dont burn down. Not cheap, but when you think that you'll never have to replace them, it makes sense. They come in colors, and even have seasonal motifs like real candles (think shells imbedded, birch bark exteriors, etc) Luminara is the brand I prefer but there are several knock offs available for less. Im a bit of a design snob when it comes to kitschy stuff--but these actually managed to impress me--i own two.

So, you are talking about the ones that use batteries and that flame appearing light bulb that flickers. Saw those on the Dinning Room table at Easter. Seems that Mrs (AKA: The Shopper) had already spotted them and made the purchase.
