Sudden breathing difficulties and rush to vets

A quick update on how we are doing with the implant. I feel like I got my Salvador back. She is no longer desperately trying to nest, being sexually aggressive towards me at every opportunity or intensely hunting for 'new' nesting sites. We have our morning and evening cuddles again, which I was really missing, and she is quite fun and playful again.

I did have concerns at first, like changes in personality, if it would cause issues long term etc. Her personality has not changed at all; she is back to her normal self (as to what she was like prior to hitting sexual maturity), and fingers crossed, she won't be laying any clutches for a while.

Still having issues with getting her off seed. She isn't too keen on the Nutriberries and will eat one or two if I make it part of a game. She does get a little aggressive with them if she really doesn't want one. If I put them in her food dish, she just chucks them all out and they end up rolling around on the bottom of the cage, getting pooped on. She didn't really take to the birdy bread, a few nibbles and is all but ignoring her fresh chop. Sometimes I can encourage her to eat a bit of fruit or a carrot if I am eating it as well. Pellets are well and truly ignored. I even tried eating some of them to show her they weren't that bad. She had a nibble and looked at me like 'Are you kidding?' We will keep trying.

I want to say thank you again for all the support I had here when she was so ill. It was devastating, and knowing there were people out there who understood my heartbreak really helped me get through it.💚💚💚

My lovebird takes herself to bed around the same time each evening usually around 9.30. She will tolerate me watching TV for about a half hour, making those beaky grinding sounds they make when settling down for the night. But if I stay up past ten she starts shouting at me. God help me if I even think about picking up my phone! She keeps me in good habits haha
Nice to hear that another person has a feathered overseer for bedtime! Nameliss starts reminding me at 730 pm. She reminds me to take the dog outside multiple times. The especially annoying part is her frequent reminder to go to the bathroom. You're lucky to have a 10 cut off. Mine is an hour earlier. Nameliss tells me frequently and loudly...I gotta go to bed...go to sleep. But we're (she's) up at the crack of dawn. I (try)refuse to get out of bed before 0600. It's easier in the winter when sunrise is late.

Glad to hear things are going much better. Did you try mixing some of her seed into the birdie bread?
