Cedar?

Hello everyone!

I am currently designing a nesting box for my eclectus. Is Eastern Red Cedar an ok choice? I have read that Cedar Shavings are not safe, but aren't many of these made from European Ceder not Eastern North American Cedar?

Just wanting to be certain as I dont want to harm Scarlet...>

cedar shavings aren't safe for most pets because of the strong scent/oils causing respiratory issues, so if the wood has a strong scent I would say it isn't safe
