Chessie has a broken leg

Oh man another injury in my flock.

Putting the birds to bed and Chessie crash landed on me and I wasn't able to catch her and fell softly to the floor. She was holding out her leg and wing. I seriously thought she was stroking out. It was so scary. So after her leg wasn't recovering, I gently felt her leg up to her body. I felt the bones moving so I knew it was probably broke. Our conclusion is that her nail was caught on a perch and when she took flight she snapped her leg. It couldn't have been the crash into me, I believe she felt the pain and flew right to me but couldn't stick the landing with her leg broke. A trip to the vet and she's all bandaged up! What do you think guys, she still so lovable or what?

Aww how sweet. I actually have experience w this. I had a budgie break their tibiotarsus as it would appear your tiel did. I suggest a much smaller cage for at least a month, and I did scrunched up (new) socks on the floor of the cage so the little guy could find a comfy place to rest with all weight off the injured leg. Bird bones heal VERY fast when the bird gets proper care. <3 your baby should be right as rain again in no time.
