was fine last night, since we woke up this morning, has not taken any food or water yet. When we first woke up he laided down for a minute on the door to the cage(has never done that in twenty years). he has been sitting on the perch for 4 hours and has not moved ,just looks around.

Giving some back ground information would be helpful. Like the type of parrot, his diet, etc. But he have a health issue best to consult an avian vet ASAP!

Chico is a Blue-crowned Conure,he is about twenty years old. Yesterday was eating his normal diet of bird food and treats. He is very still today, very quiet. He will eat treats if I give to him and he just drank water from his bowl.still not moving around much in his cage.

in a million years I never thought that I would be so upset, this is going to be a tough one to get over. He was my buddy

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I remember how grieved I was when my cockatjel died two years back, so I can empathize with what you're going through. Sounds like Chico was very loved, though, which probably means he was very happy during the time you had with him. Try to focus on those good times, rather than the circumstances surrounding his passing. I know that helped me, at least.

I can certainly understand how that feels, as I have lost some beloved pets, most recently my babygirl Minya, a 16yo pug, and my peach-faced lovebird, Nico, who I had for 11 years - it affected me very deeply. There is only one cure for that sadness, and it is the passage of time. For some people getting another pet can be helpful. I did get another pair of lovebirds and that helped take my mind off of Nico and helped me to move on.

Sorry to hear about Chico. Did they ever find out what was wrong with him????
