Clara’s got you date

This marks Claire’s got you date.

I could not take her cage.
It had no rollers or wheels so would be impossible to move on the wooden floor. I’m using a cage I bought through Facebook a few years ago.
Got her home (the farm) late around 6:30 pm.
Just now starting to unwind.
Laughing.
Kissing noises.
Dog winning.
Said “what are you doing “

Doesn’t want to go in the cage yet, hopefully soon to eat and drink.

In the background you can see the award my father got from Hughes aircraft for working on the surveyor program.

Was so difficult going to bed last night.

She kept holding her foot up in the air like asking to be picked up.
Tried to cover her up some (for warmth mostly) but she didn’t like it.
Bedroom is set to colder temperature and it’s either completely dark or too much light to sleep.

I woke up at 2 am and had so much pain reporting from different places……. Couldn’t take anything on empty stomach, tried to get back to sleep (after checking on Claire) but no dice.
4 am ate a little and took OTC pain meds.
Went to sleep a little on couch next to Claire.

She has eaten a little bit. Millet seed and banana (scrambled eggs too
But I would be happier if she was eating more.

I think I need to give her more time to settle in.
Debating putting together the larger cage I have waiting.

Gardeners came by this morning and the leaf blower guy scarred her a bit..

Ive tried to record her talking but as soon as I try she stops.

Important update.

Due to my bad spelling and misunderstanding I got her name wrong.
It’s Clara (like Bewitched aunt Clara with the doorknob fetish).
But the other big update I noticed at breakfast this morning.

She is missing on both feet the back inner toe.
I’m sure this happened in the nest. The guy I got her from confirmed that was how she came.

If a moderator could pleas change the name of the thread to correct her name would appreciate it.

Anyway her is breakfast picture of her handicap.

jimmy Dean sausage biscuit.
It’s my go to breakfast.
She didn’t eat any but she likes sharing my Raisin Bran cereal.

At night.

Everything is fine except at night.

She doesn’t want to be in her cage at night.
She’s not happy being on top of her cage either.

In her cage she does the chicken scratches like she is trying to burrow and dig out.
On top of her cage she flutters her wings like she wants to go somewhere.

I don’t know how to deal with this.
All my other birds are happy to be in cages at night .
I mean they don’t see well at night so being closed up is safe for them.

And in the cage if she’s not doing the funky chicken she is holding her foot up really high asking for step up.
She doesn’t like being covered.

I don’t know what to do.
