Cockatiel breeding

I just recently got a male and a female cockatiel, they have been kept in the same cage, would they mate if you pit a breeding box in there or would they not since they have been living together for awhile?

It depends! They may breed,but I've seen ones that's been together for awhile and they don't like one another.

Yeah, I know snakes won't breed if they have been in the same terrarium for a long time, amd thought birds may be similar.

you could put one up and see what happens.
my birds were together a year before they started mating
