I know the differences are pretty obvious. I guess what I need to know from experienced owners is how difficult they are. I currently own ( ok I'm owned by) a parrotlet. He is moody, sweet and very independent. We want to add another small bird to our flock and we are feeling torn. We are wait listing for an English Budgie, but cockatiels seem so sweet and endearing. I don't know what to do
My issue is cage placement. I have cats and they are way to curious, so Tater has his own room. I feel this is safer, that he is more secure not having to deal with cats eyeing him up for a fit on rye bread:32: I know that budgies tend to be a bit more independent as well, so I think one would be ok with being in the bird room. What about a cockatiel? Is not being near the family, or insight detrimental? I spend a few hours a day in the room with Tater, he is allowed out to sit with me or perch in the window. We also just got a really nice play stand!! Hopefully a Tater will appreciate my efforts at entertaining him.
Your thought, comments and suggestions are most appreciated!!!!
