Not sure if this has been posted before, but here is a wonderful (true!) story about a too with one wing who got a second chance at life, and made the most of it!

A Tale of Two Cockies

Down the bottom their is a 'next page' button to read the next page/instalment. I almost missed it myself, so I thought I'd point it out! There are roughly 5 pages, but don't worry, it's mainly photos!

Lots of photos and just a beautiful too story. Mama is an injured wild bird who now lacks a wing and lives well cared for, but seemingly a little lonely, in captivity. Well, she gets her knight in shining armour, and in a hilarious fashion too! (no pun intended!)

Slight spoiler of the wonderful story- But keep in mind these are native birds to the area, and while we may have some disagreements on the safety of her roaming about when she cannot fly, that she was, and is a wild creature, and that she probably would prefer not to be confined or caged!

Awww....what a BEAUTIFUL heartwarming story! So well captures by absolutely photo's as well. Thank you so much for sharing that link. I truly needed something inspiring this morning. :D

That was lovely, and well done to them for getting so many pictures! Hope they all live happily ever after. I feel sorry for Momma though with the frustrating one wing, but at least he come home every evening to look after her! So precious.

Stories like this made me so interested it parrots, very heart warming

thanks for sharing

I had never seen that, thank you so much for sharing I loved it.

Awww, that's so sweet!!

I wonder if they were mates before the female's accident, or if they met for the first time after.

Someone emailed me that about a year ago. It is a heartwarming story. I'm always a sucker for a good love story:)

Great story! Thanks! Parrots are very resilient birds. I had a cockatoo that survived a dog attack. She lost one leg, and part of a wing. Yet, she did just about everything any other bird did. Even perching was possible. Though, I made things easier for her as besty as I could.

Glad everyone got a good read then :) I've had a sucky lovelife of late (typical teenage woes, go on, laugh :P ) and this was an instant cheer up.

Oh man, my teenage love life was a soap opera, lol.

My adult love life has been an even worse soap opera:rolleyes:

You guys give me so much hope for my future love life endeavours ;) :p

I could write you a terrible, sappy, overemotional play. ;)

Well, hopefully you'll find a good one who is a keeper. I've given up now, lol! The ones left at my age are the ones no one else wants either. One of my friends remarked, "Pretty soon though there will be widowers!" Now that's a cheery thought:rolleyes:

You never know, my grandfather got his second chance at love recently. ;)
