New to the forum and not a parrot owner. I've been reading threads here off and on fora few years. Found this forum after losing our pet chicken ( both therapy and medical alert) in January 2023.
Lost another last week to a "neurological condition " according to our kind and capable avain vet.
Today we had some windows, doors, and ceiling vents tightened up with caulking. I always assume where there are fumes there is danger.
How long, or how often, should our home be aired out? Kitchen and living room are open with a high ceiling and she spends most if her time in the living room
I was told they used "mastic " caulking.

. My rule of thumb is; once I can no longer smell the fumes, it’s probably safe. I don’t know if there is a more scientific answer but this is what I do and it seems to work so far. I have used caulk on a coop that I made for bantam chickens. I let it air out for a couple days before I moved them in and it was totally fine!
