So I was typing on the computer with my back to Rudy, my yn amazon, and he flies down to my shoulder. He puts his head down for some scritches and then after a while he starts biting me. Then I let him know I won't put up with it by saying no and he's all sweet and wants scritches again. Is this normal behavior?

You should NOT have been ignoring him, he only wanted your undivided attention LOL.

My girls pretend they weren't doing wrong when I scold them. I know this isn't really an answer to your question, but remember Flora was trying to eat my phone while I was texting you last night. She wanted my attention, I wasn't supposed to be using the phone !

Well, it's odd, he only wants scritches when he wants it which is at night. If I try whenever I want, he tries to bite. I just want to squeeze and cuddle him up when he lets me scratch his head which is just starting to happen more often. It took him a whole year to do this. I guess I was trying too hard to be accepted.

Henpecked was right, ignore him and he will come to you. lol.

lol, reminds me of the sour patch commercial....first they're sour, then they're sweet :)
and the ignoring thing is dead on, if i want sweet pea to come out of her cage and she refuses i leave the door open and ignore her completely...it doesn't take too long before i feel her trying to climb up my leg :)

yep, Normal. If there is something you want your zon to eat, make a bowl and sit down to eat it where you can be seen. have some then leave the bowl there with the cage open. Guess what will be gone...

:32:YOU WERE SCRATCHING TOO LONG IN ONE SPOT! DO THE OTHER SIDE NOW... :D

Normal, but not just for amazons. It's pretty much a universal, I think.

Haha! I tried that. So, I guess too much of a good thing freaks them out?

Rudy has come a long way bonding with me since I brought him home last January.
