Hello. I need some advice because I'm starting to fear my conure. My bird is about 5 and gradually became more nippy, escalating to biting me sometimes. Mostly he does to my neck when he is perched on my shoulder, usually for no apparent reason. Following advice I've read on here, I would tell him "No!" in a mad voice then take him to his cage. Sometimes I will keep him locked for 15 minutes or more if he's being very bad. This method worked for me and he bit me less and less, that is until yesterday.
He's been extremely loud and nippy all day. I've given him several cage lock ins and letting him out after he was calm. In the afternoon, he continued to be unruly so I said "No!" He then flew to my mouth and bit me. The outside and inside of my chin and mouth bled. I told him "no bite" and locked him in the cage for several hours till he calmed down.
Now I know he doesn't like the word NO because I say it all mad. What should I do? Do I say it a less mad way? He is very sweet but he gets like this usually on the weekends when we spend all day together. Please help.
