Yoshi and Bruce - green cheeked conures
HI All! I'm a new member and I have two green cheeked conures named Yoshi and Bruce. They are about 5 years old and so inquisitive. I got them from the same pet store as they were supposed to be the same sex, but lo and behold, Bruce turned out to be female! As a result, we've got three new young conures and I need to find the babies them their forever homes. They just went to the vet this week and got a clean bill of health. I don't know their sex though. They are approximately 3 months old, eating Zupreem's food and have officially learned how to fly. They are super cute, but I do not need three more conures! We are in North Carolina. They are the three birds on the right side in the picture - the bright yellows and one in the center. We are looking to match them to someone who is already into birds and understands the commitment of these little creatures!

That's one of the bigged problems with breeding your own pet birds. Sure, it can be a wonderful experience and baby parrots are just so freakin' CUTE, but when you want them to stop after giving you a few adorable chicks they may have other ideas. My budgies laid a second clutch when the first chicks were not yet fledged and laid a third after the second! The only way I could stop them was to physically separate the pair in separate rooms. It would be awful to have to do that to a bonded pair of family pet conures.
Hopefully your birds aren't that determined to make more birds and you can just remove the nestbox. It doesn't sound like they are if they haven't laid more eggs already. If they do start laying on the cage floor or somewhere else dummy eggs are very helpful.

I have to say I would have a hard time giving up any of thom beautiful babies they gave you. I don't trust anyone to take proper care of any of my budgies' children- that's why I now have 20 budgies!
