Hello there! A few months ago some of the members here might remember me getting my yellow sided, seemingly over the course of 2-3 days he's been getting really grumpy and has bitten me more times than I care to count.

He never used to be like this, always so cuddly and social. Doing anything around him e.g. give him food, giving him a headscratch could result in a nip or bite. Getting him off others shoulders definitely results in a bite. However there are times when he is alright.

Is this the "Bluffing" stage I read about, what can I do? I don't want to be doing anything that might accidentally further this problem.

Is he moulting? I noticed that my Ekki is doing the EXACT same behavior. My breeder told me how much their behavior can change through this time with all the discomfort they experience.
OR, maybe he is trying to figure out his standing with in your "flock?

Interesting you say that, yes he's developing a lot of new feathers now but it could be both, he can be so stubborn! :D

Did your breeder tell you what can be done when they're going through this?

He just told me to give him baths often, maybe every other day. And try to make him as comfortable as possible. He gets moody when the new "pins" are poking through the skin. I can't really imagine how aggravating, uncomfortable, this must be. I have just bought an aloe vera plant to use to make some aloe spray with filtered water to mist him between baths.
Good luck! I've been dealing with this for 2 months now, but I think it is finally getting over!

What I am working on now is trying to figure out why he will bite my son and wife, and then not? He never bites me, but it is quite frustrating to see him do this and 1 minute later be fine and fly to them and not bite!?!?
Not sure what is going through his mind!:30:
