Convince parents to get another bird

Is your mother on board yet with a second bird? If not, have you asked why? Is she willing to step up and care for them in the event you are not able for any reason? If you go through a rescue the whole family will be interviewed and a home inspection.

My mother will if pushed will say yes but I don't think my Dad is going to be convinced that easily (he wouldn't even let Chico have flight feathers). Its occurring to me that my Dad doesn't even like birds, he might even hate them. But if my Mother tries we maybe can concur my Dads hatred for getting another bird (for a month so we can see how it goes). On a brighter note I am going to the animal rescue today and looking at the bird I want to foster for.

I have control over their environment, and my parents and siblings aren't around them often to dictate how I care for them. Another great thing is that I don't have to worry about cleaners being used in the same room as them.

It works amazing! Think of it like out of site out of mind, my family likes my birds because they don't deal with them 24/7

I'm 13 Chico right now is staying in the living room. I have to keep him not only does it keep him happy (he likes the action) he is to noisy to be in my room. But I maybe able to pull of keeping the Sun Conure in my room but I would have to get to the point where my parents wanting to talk logistics.

Today I went to the rescue and they said that they had a "bird herpes" outbreak so my Mom said "wait until there is no issue" so now I am waiting but we will see.

Since you are a minor, your parents will have to be the legal owners of whatever bird you wish to adopt from the rescue. Minors are not allowed to enter legal contracts and that is what rescues have. Once you go off to an out-of-town or out-of-state college in five years, you may not be able to take it with you while staying in a dorm. Keep that in mind because we have had people come to the rehome section for that very reason. I really hope that your parents like the birds you have because, if not, they may have to be returned to the rescue and that may be in the adoption contract.

No, Chico in the morning (6:00 am) was waking me up. Si maybe the Sun Conure would boy wake me up that early. My room is say 40 feet from my parents but it was loud enough to bother me.

I echo this sentiment entirely.

I was walking down the downtown district here and DISTINCTLY heard the EEK EEK EEK EEK EEK of an excited Sun Conure. It sounded close, but in actuality, this Conure was located in a store 40 feet from my location when I first heard it. I heard the bird so loud and clear even over traffic, and I was about 3 stores away from where the bird was being kept... and the door to the store was closed.

Turns out the man keeps the Sun Conure there because his wife cannot stand hearing that noise anymore. It was his wife's bird... and it now dominates his Antique Militaria store. He also asked me if I wanted to adopt him... haha. Apparently he is chatty like that for most of the day, even if he's perched on the guy's shoulder.

I don't want to come off as someone who is not giving you the benefit of the doubt... as that happens to me all the time and it grinds my gears... but have you looked up some videos of Sun Conures being chatty? My concern is that your parents might feel that your new Sun Conure will be as quiet as your Green Cheek, and be really upset when they realize how much louder they actually are. I am just worried they will make you return the bird and because of the unpleasant experience they will not want you to get another bird again.

Forgive me for "borrowing trouble" in assuming that this will end negatively, I just always plan for damage control whenever I make a decision about bringing an animal into my home.

I have decided due to having the rescue having an out break of bird herpes and them giving me a disclaimer about getting another conure I will just wait for the moment.
