Cought flat footed

Merlin cought me flat footed today.

When I got Merlin he had the step up command down solid.
So I have mostly been working on the two birds getting along together and keeping
my distance. I handle them and all but just in/out of the cage.
Recently I have been picking up Merlin and carrying him back to the couch
to sit with me.
I don’t keep him from leaving and he can fly away anytime.

Merlin also has a habit common with alot of flighted birds.
He likes to swoop in from on high and pull up when he gets close.

So after sitting with hem for a bit he flew off to his cage.
But he flew back!!
It was so unexpected when he got close and put on the brakes.
I did not get my hand up in time but I am going to be ready next time.

Luna use to fly to me (but never to land on a hand, just close by) until I Got Merlin.
If Merlin fly’s to me Luna will almost certainly follow.

I wish Amy would at least TRY to fly. My brother has said if Amy flew there would be a lot of flapflap noise going on,and he'd be chasing the Beeb's everywhere lol. As it is he walks down the hall's saying HELLO? looking for the little guy.
