I would assume that chewing these materials and signs of chewing :ie, frayed boing perches. If i noticed they were chew their cage cover i would discontinue it's use.

Still waiting on the name of the product you say you found at GNC that dissolves cellulose in case this ever happens to someone's bird.
 
Cellulase is the name, it breaks down cellulose , a natural plant fiber. I doubt it has much effect on the synthetic fibers that most of those crop impactions where caused by. The exception might be the coconut fibers. I know it does help with paper,wood,cotton,etc. The natural fibers.

PS sorry for not getting back to you on that. It's tough getting old and forgetful.
