Cyrus is in love with the Budgies

Cyrus, my GCC, is in love with the four budgies. He wants to hang out on top of their cage, and today he pried his way in to take a bath in their water. I'm afraid to give him free access, because he could hurt them; but his fascination with them is cute. Last night, he was clearly irritated with me when I made him go to bed in his own cage (in a different room). This morning, I brought him over to the budgie cage top, near my desk. Once he was there, he did NOT want to step up or come to my shoulder--I suspect because he worried that I might take him away from his little flock.

Maybe he also likes to feel like a big bird. We took him from a home that had about 8 much larger birds, and he was very much lost in the crowd... With the budgies, he is the big king.

My GCC also loves my budgies. He has access during free time to them. They are flighted and he is not, plus they move about 100 times faster. He is mostly interested in their food and toys however. The English Budgie likes to attempt to preen him, Squirrel usually says "No!"
