do amazon try mate with you

hi guys is it possible for blue fronts to try mate with you and can it be hormonal at 2 years of age. it keeps putting one foot on my hand backwards starts playing then gets frustrated and bites me really hard not sure of the sex got told it was 2 when i bought it maybe its a bit older the eyes are starting to go a bit orange but still mostly black so i know its still young

A 2 year old Amazon isn't anywhere near sexual maturity.

And yes, mature zons will try and do "their" thing, I know my Hunter tries during breeding season, but I discourage the behavior by either putting her back in her cage for a while, or I start playing games with her that will distract her from "being in the mood for some lovin' ".

I agree with Wendy. 2yrs old is a is a bit old to still have the dark eyes. How long have you had him? can you get a video?

No i can't. He's older than 6 months. Does he have a band, a closed ring band?

it does have a ring but it wont let me grab it yet still at the trusting stage

That isn't breeding behavior.

Unlike some birds, macaws for example, amazons aren't especially skilled at controlling their bite pressure if you get them wound up...

The "Amazon overload" thing is very real... they can get worked into a state, and then "play rough."

Remember: Amazons play with their toys by destroying them! You don't want to be the toy...
