When I bought the cages the three that fit on this area perfectly. I made up a whole system, with pulleys, and ropes to bring down the cover to cover all three. I did it for two night. And decided that I just had a senior moment with I came up with the idea. They are doing fine. I have their lights on timers.
12hrs on 12hrs off.
Does anyone cover their cages?
Just asking. Thos picture show the white rope, black canvas tarp up against the wall.
I swear I was not drinking.

Most of my bird cages have covers on top.
None are fully covered but at night they have a choice of perching in a covered or non covered area.

I cover my cages. When we get up I take off the covers, but their bird lights don't come on until later in the morning.

I cover my cages partially, from 9:30 pm to whenever they wake up, usually around 8 am.

I don't. The Rb has his own room, so it's easy to shut the area down from sundown to sunup (in accordance with seasonal daylight).
Back before he had his room, I DID cover his cage on the same schedule.

Inventive. I've been looking at this for a few days. Your few days of work would take me months of protection planning. Nameliss is my disassembly expert African Grey

I only cover the birds who sleep in a sleep cage, and mostly only in summer time, I have some that sleep loose in a room. I only cover them in summer, because the light will wake them earlier than they should be up:)
