Does anyone else think Spring is coming early this year?

My Sam has been getting a little excited over the past few days. I see a bit of nippiness that hasn't been around lately. Perhaps he is my own little ground hog and is telling me Spring is coming! Hope so. Can't wait for warmer temps and outside time.

If one is to believe the forecasters, the Upper Mid-West will be swinging up and down in temperatures and snow /rain /ice over the next couple of weeks and then transition into a 'normal' Spring pattern by mid-March. But, that is fairly close to what they said last year for my area. I remember last Spring when I was still snowmobiling in late April, which is rare for this area.

If one selectively chooses temperatures within a region, it could be said that last year (2018) was the warmest on record. However, my weather station rated it much cooler as did my AC usage.

So, I tend to believe my Amazon's evaluation much more than most long range forecasters. And our DYH Amazon roster has been pushing edge a bit early this year.

We had "the first blooms of spring" going strong in december!


Then everything was on hold for a few weeks, and no idea where we are heading now.
The last few years we got grazy cold weather a lot later than usual (sometimes we could scate as early as the beginning of november- lately we have had these type of frostperiods the end of feb/ halfway march...)

It is almost like we did not set our calendars right...


I love spring but I also really really like not having hayfever (and those annoying trees are usually the first..) So no matter what happens: win-win situation


(and yes, Sunny was trying to nestbuild in/on my lap today..so that's affirmative on the hormonal / but for a B&G this is the normal time for it..)

Ugh, hayfever. I get it bad too. Trees first, then grass then weeds in September. Mold in the winter. I never get a break!

I was going to ask if everyone else's birds were starting to molt, because my house is nothing but a huge feather bin...All of them are covered with pin feathers and look like they're going bald, lol. Poor Kane's head looks like moths got to it, lol...

Kane was also dropping his wings and making his "I love you a little too much mama" chirping sound yesterday, but so far he's the only one doing that so far...so far...

It is early this year...

I have songbirds singing the sounds of spring love, and butterflies, abd spring flowers here in North Florida! So yes spring is Early.

The weather here has been INSANE. Yesterday there were simultaneous warnings/advisories- tornado warnings (+sirens), ice, floods, dense fog etc ...So, that was very odd...and kind of like a Spring-ish hybrid.
My poor bird does seem a bit confused. She was acting hormonal for a week or so and now she seems to be mellowing out again, but there were feathers flying at the time.
