Turquoise GCC - Fiji - Hatch Date: 8/14/12 and Yellow Sided GCC - Sundance - Hatch Date: 4/12/13
My little Fiji is very playful, and he loves to do somersaults! OF COURSE it's adorable to see, but I worry he might break his neck or something  sometimes he will literally somersault right down my shoulder onto my lap, rolling like a little ball, headfirst, and then from my lap right down to the floor!

Is this something I need to worry about, or should I just enjoy watching his shenanigans???

Misha used to roll onto his back and slide down my stomach, he's just playing! Enjoy the shenanigans, Misha doesn't do this any more since I got Guapo =(

Misha sounds adorable! I sure am enjoying Fiji's shenanigans, we laugh so hard every day! If he's not somersaulting down my shoulder, he's rolling onto his back to "fight" with his feet. What a silly bird, lol!

Yours sounds like a darling bird! Definitely enjoy the antics, but be careful and keep an eye on him at ALL times and never take anything for granted...

Rosie somersaults ALL the time for me, even though she never did in the store until everybody left it at night. (But I bought her to get her out of there and I can tell she is so much happier... even if she is scarred for life with hands, she's come a long way in accepting me and mine...)

Syzygy also did somersaults, walked on his back by propelling himself by applying his talons against the cage bars... he loved to cuddle... he also suffocated himself in bedsheets before I could find him one day... :( So definitely be very careful.

Fiji sounds like a gem of a bird, and I still feel pangs over my Syzygy's untimely end...

That's cute! I wish my sun was that acrobatic lol.

I say enjoy it, but do watch where he falls. I've heard of conures getting concussions in their cages.

cooper doesnt do that exactly. but in his cage on his perches he will crawl around the perch. like going uder and around doing a flip around it. it makes me laugh every time

Sooo sorry about Syzygy :( :(. How awful!

Agapornis- OMG I would LOVE to see that!! How cute! You must video tape it!

Mine does this too and it's so adorable! Ive always worried about if it could hurt his neck too..

Thermodynamic, so sorry about Syzygy :( I can't even imagine how awful that must have been.

Trust me, i'm always on full alert when that little birdy is out of his cage. I'm so nervous that I will sit on him, accidentally smash him into a wall or counter when he is riding on my forearm...you name it! When he starts his rolling, I always try to catch him to stop him from hitting the floor. He will literally throw himself off my shoulder, and roll into a ball, so I have to be quick

I will try to get it on video, but you never know when he's going to do it.

My GCC does all kinds of goofy things. She lays on her back and does laps around the cage bottom, pushing herself around with one foot against the bars. Slides down the corner of the cage. She will be inside the cage, with her back facing the bars, one foot on each side and slide down, then flip upside down and go down the next part. She loves to do tarzan swinging from leather strings. Her favorite is to push toys off the top of her cage or a table with her head, she then watches the toy fall to the floor and looks to us like 'well, pick it up and put it back'. When we do she pushes it off again. And she loves to watch the fish in my fish tank. Silly bird.

Just let him have fun ! They can judge what can hurt them. Its so cute ! That,is pretty much the trademark of the conure, aerobics and gymnastics LOL

They are also great dancers. lol

Yeah, I can relate. I have to catch Trixie at times. She will be laying on her back in the palm of my hand and suddenly she will throw herself down. I'm usually sitting on the couch, but I still catch her before she falls on my lap. It can be scary.

My life was so boring before I was owned by a little birdy!!!!
