My parrot does hum/sing. Not saying he’s good or anything. He tends to like music that has a lot of instruments, and isn’t autotuned. I’m not insulting autotuned music. It just doesn’t have the same effect on him. He can be beyond cranky at times, and if you sing to him it’s like he’s a cobra being swayed by the vibrations of music. Blue even sways side to side… it puts him into a different mood.

Like here he is listening to Metallica Sound of Silence. He’s reactive to it.

Has anyone else had these experiences with parrots?

Ava sings, but mostly just made up “La La La las” & sing songy falsettos at the end of “peekaboo.” I’ll be interested to see if she starts to learn some songs.

Aww, that’s cute, Blue! Love his little head bobbing ❤️
My Quaker sings his own little song but I don’t know what it is. The words/ sounds/ rhythm are always the same but not clear enough for me to understand. I call it his, “bee-do” song because that’s what it sounds like he’s saying! My budgies have never sung anything but bird songs, but my first budgie, Bogey, loved listening to Frank Sinatra!

Blue just reminds me of these snakes that would otherwise attack but music puts them in some sort of mood. Singing to Blue usually “calms” him if he’s being “aggressive”.
