My budgies like to watch US eat and steal food off our plates which isn't too awful except when the start actually walking on the food!
I like watching them all come out in the am to eat at the dish of chop on top of the largest cage with scrambled egg and sprouts sprinkled on top, plus what I call their "salad" which is a nice big leaf of romaine lettuce. There's a bowl of seed up there too but they do straight for the chop dish first.
They eat better than we do sometimes!

It's a hoot watching them get excited! My guys recognize the pellet bag and Nutriberry container. Then the gusto in which they eat their food! There's a reason why I make oinking noises when they eat sometimes (and am shocked nobody's picked up on....)

I watch Nameliss eat most mornings. It shows me how she's feeling. I can tell when she's getting bored with a particular combination of chop. Eating, especially early morning, can give clues to illnesses. She's a nibble here, there during the day. So mornings is best time for food evaluation.

That's why I eat birdie forbidden items out of sight! The look I get is guilt producing.

Peachie my princess parrot is probably the most fun of my flock to watch eating, although she does have a tendency to chuck all her most expensive food items on the floor as she sorts through it so there's quite a bit of collateral damage. She does this little head bob particularly when she's eating her veg, idk whether it's a princess parrot thing or a Peachie thing but it's just the cutest!

I watched Nameliss eating fresh grapes. She peels them first! So delicately and eats most of the grape. Grapes are saved for late morning or early afternoon eating. I just knew she ate grapes. I wondered if other parrots have eating quirks.

Kiwi tends to eat delicately. She is slow and careful. She sucks the grapes out. She is also different when drinking her water, she drinks slowly, with Piki he used to throw his head back and make a gulping sound. With Kiwi very quiet.
