Jack- 5 year old pacific parrotlet
It just occurred to me that Jack never got a leg band, should he have one? I'm worried he might not like it as he is a bit sensitive to having things on his feet. Thanks:greenyellow:

No. In fact many avian vets suggest to cut them off since a looser fitting band can potentially get caught among toys and cause injury.

Many breeders use banding for record keeping purposes to keep track of who's who.

A pet doesn't NEED a band. It's not like how pet dogs need a license.

Thanks, I guess I won't worry about it then!

My girl doesn't have a band. However I did take her in to get microchipped. Accidents do happen, and then there's always people that try to steal exotic birds too.
