Does your parrot sleep with you?

Parrots
Currently I only have my amazing Alexandrine, Bubby.
To clarify I do not mean sleep in bed with you, but sleep near you. My Alexandrine has a few perches around the house, one in my room, and he just looooves to take naps with me and sleep through the night with me. It seems whenever I settle down to nap (I have a medical condition that makes me sleep more than usual) he automatically goes to sleep. It’s crazy! If I do sleep to long he does jump on my bed and gently wake me up and it seems like he’s just making sure I’m ok. Are any of your birds so in tune with you they sleep when you do? I’m just amazed haha! I love my little boy, Bubby.
Also, do you shower with your bird? People always give me weird looks when I tell them I do but he absolutely loves it. He spreads his wings out and gets every possible feather wet! He also loves that his voice echos in the shower and will just babble constantly so sometimes I put him in there without water so he can just talk away. He has just the best feather health too! I’ll attach a picture of him in the shower.

Ps. I am doing professional art commissions for birds so check out my previous post if you’re interested!

Absolute yes on the shower-question, actually I mostly shower on bird-appropriate times now (Midmorning if I can manage that, because they really do not like early).
They love getting completely soaked and will complain it they haven't had enough and I end their bathingtime too soon.

They have adapted to a siesta (or maybe I have adapted to theirs?) - since we all live together sometimes it is hard to tell who follows the daily activities and who starts them.

I prefer training with them in the afternoons/evening when things are more quiet and it is easier for me to focus - they've decided it is more fun in the (early) mornings when I want&need to do other things.... so morning-sessions it is ;)

These guys just sleep in their cages- mostly because they can be quite destructive at times (when they are not supervised).
D. (r.i.p.) used to take naps on my chest, but slept at night in the cage and I spend many a night sleeping next to her cage instead of my bed (so role-reversal to your question).

Peanut is a good sleeper, she takes little naps during the day and on the weekends she will actually let me sleep in. She's only noisy in the morning if she hears someone get up. She'll let out a few calls, but if she realizes everyone went back to sleep she stays quiet. She's great about that.

Yup my little girl indi sleeps with me snuggled in my hood ( picture attached) although i do not fall asleep with her as it is dangerous. My Alex, Wolfie, is very very insecure and shy, but he is a very lovely boy once he trusts you. But he also like bubby loves showers. I have 4 Parrots and shower with all of them at once ( don't worry people look at me strange too) All of the Parrots of a morning are generally quiet unless someone gets up, but it is just usually every now and again Wolfie talking to himself ( Hi wolf/wolfie, big wings, love you, what ya doing, give me a kiss)

My GCC's cage is in our bedroom, up on my Bearded Dragon's huge enclosure. He sleeps there and wakes in the morning with us. I get him out and he sits on the towel bar while I shower. :)

All 4 of my larger parrots have sleeping cages in my master bedroom, while their main cages are downstairs in the living room...So I say "it's bedtime" and all 4 take-off upstairs and go right in their sleeping cages (except for Duff, my Cockatiel, who cannot fly, so she hitches a ride). My Ringneck Dove's cage/enclosure is also in my bedroom (big master bedroom) full-time, although this is going to change for two reasons, one because I need to buy a stand for him to also be in the living room/dining room area, and two because I can't take the constant "cooing" all night long! It's like having a Rooster who coos all the time...I love him dearly, but I can't take it anymore! He's actually moving downstairs tomorrow! We'll see how that goes....

****I'd be leery about locating your Green Cheek's cage right on top of your Bearded Dragon's enclosure, due to the different strains of both Bacteria and more-so the Fungi that Dragon's naturally carry...I too have a Bearded Dragon, who's large enclosure is located in my dining room area, and away from the birds, who know they are not to go anywhere near her enclosure...You can have a perfectly healthy, well-cared for Bearded Dragon who lives in a very clean, well-maintained enclosure, but they still naturally host several different strains of Bacteria and more importantly Fungi that are harmful to birds. I'd definitely not place your Green Cheek's cage directly on top of the Dragon's enclosure, even though I'm sure it's both clean and also sealed-off on top (I'm assuming it's a large, wooden enclosure with a closed top since his cage is on top of it)...Microbes travel quickly and are going to be all over that enclosure, both inside and out, no matter how clean it is, it's just how Reptiles and Amphibians are. Strains like Salmonella, E. Coli, and certain Fungi/Yeast are naturally hosted by many Reptiles and Amphibians, Bearded Dragons being one of them. It's fine to have them in the same home as your birds, but not with the bird's cage on top/near the Dragon's enclosure...

Bumble has one main cage in the living room. It’s on castors so I can roll it into the bedroom if I’m spending time in there. I also have a smaller cage that I sometimes use in the bedroom instead (for example-I had back surgery a few weeks ago and I’m not cleared to move stuff around so smaller cage for now). I have been thinking about having her sleep in the smaller cage in my room, because if we had a fire it would be a lot easier to get her out. But I don’t think she’d get a good night’s sleep that way, since that’s where the TV is and I usually watch after she goes to bed.

As for showers-I would be happy to have her shower with me, but she’s afraid of the bathroom, so she does her bathing in the kitchen sink.

At the end of the day when I’m finally relaxing, I lay on my bed and snuggle with my most beloved little bird, Robin. I’ve had him for 24 years, and he’s as bonded and cuddly and trusting as a stereotypical cockatoo (which is unusual for a Red Bellied Parrot).

The 3 parrots are in my room, but after we’re done repairing and remodeling the house, all the birds will be in the living room, but I will always have a cage in the room for Robin to “sleep with me”. Shower together, no.

I have heard horror stories of owners inadvertently rolling over and suffocating their birds (on this forum)...so no.
I have mine in a cage that I cover nightly.

Same here! The only time I sleep is when I know they're behind a closed door. It'd be too easy for a bird to fly off that perch, think it's safe around me and without realizing, one turn or shift would end it all.

The guilt of killing a bird accidentally when it just wanted to feel safe would be so tough. My comfort isn't worth the life of a beloved. There is no doubt you love Bubby. Get him a sleep cage to move around and let him sleep safely when and where you sleep.

Birdie always falls asleep in my t-shirt at dusk in front of the TV. When it's completely dark outside, I put her in her cage to sleep covered up, or she goes in there by herself if it's past her bedtime....8:00pm. She takes naps under my t shirt too in the afternoon. Very cuddly bird!

I have a sleeping cage on castors near my bed. Gabby the Goffins usually occupies it at night and is surprisingly quiet in early AM. Sometimes I hear him eating pellets shortly after sunrise.
