Double yellow head amazon

There is no band

Then, unfortunately, you won't know his exact age.

But it shouldn't really matter.

Please have him checked out by an AVIAN vet, to make sure he is 100% healthy. THEN, with proper care and LOTS of TLC (tender loving care), he will hopefully be your lifetime companion and best friend. :)

I have a friend that is a really good bird expert so ill have her check him out

Also if a bird barks does it man it has talking capability

Hey juliansb1,

Welcome and congrats on the DYH.

1- Parrots do not bark, They are not dogs :D unless they picked up the barking sound from a dog or so, They do whistle, scream, screech etc. No, If the bird is screaming or making any loud noises doesn't mean they are or can be a good talker, But at least they are not deaf or dumb. and yes you can teach him to talk and do you best by training him, talking to him, offer treats while training etc.

2- Is your friend an avian vet? If so, Then that's great, If not, Then a doctors is more knowledgeable.

All the best.

Ya I have hand many birds before
I'm just wondering what else I can do to gain his trust I talk to him I leave comedian shows on for him so tht he doesn't feel lonely I also have a ringneck that talks should I move then near eachother so the ringneck can talk to him?

NO at least not now... general rule of the thumb, when you bring a new bird home it has to be in a 30 day quarantine obviously far away from the ring neck.

I think he picked it up and his pal that he was in a cage was talked so I'm guessing he might have picked it up but birds are very much quiet at first when they are nervous?
