I have a huge delima. We are in Korea...my son is keeping my Ducorp for me. His name is Sully and he is 16. He is a plucker and wears a collar. When he is with us it comes off every few days for a shower and so he can preen. We love him so very much. But I am afraid he is not getting what he needs there with my son. We will be here in Korea for 2 years...we could not bring the bird because of high cases of bird flu here....this is what we were told. Anyway....because we love the bird so much...we feel it might be better if we found him a new forever home. He is not getting what he needs from my son....and 2 years is a long time to go with out cuddles and attention.
My son in in the Air Force and starting EOD school this month...so time and attention for my Sully is gonna be even less then what he might be getting now.
How do I go about finding him a home from Korea???
I am very sad about this....but I need to do what is best for my Sully bird.
Thanks in advance.

I'm so sorry to hear that you have to give him up. I really wish that I could help you somehow.. and I wish you the absolute best of luck in finding a wonderful guardian for him.

I'm so sorry this has happened.

Which country is Sully living in now? If we know that, maybe some of us could help you better. :)

Von, she said that Sully was in Korea.

I wish I could help. Poor Sully. Are there any bird rescues in Korea that you could surrender Sully to? And they'll give him a new home.

There are rescue org. all over the USA. In what part of the USA is the bird located?

If one reads carefully you can see the bird is with this persons son in Ft. Walton which is in Florida. They want to place the bird from Korea where they are now.

hehe, this is why I struggled! I didn't know where Ft. Walton was either.....

So Florida.....

Many, many options in Florida.

I'm sure there are plenty of people or rescue orgs. that could help in a flash.

You have the most powerful tool with the internet. You can email many different orginisations. I wish you and Sully the best of luck.

Maybe Sully can find a temporary home for the time you're gone that will love him unconditionally but with plans to return him when you return? Something along teh lines of a long-term parrot sitter?

hi i live in hollywood fl. do you still have the bird if so im willing to take in another baby
