electrolytes

I want to give my parrot electrolytes. Can anyone please guide me which electrolytes to buy and how to give it. Thanks!

Here in the states a product called Pedialyte would be a product to use.....it comes in flavored and non-flavored and I have given both to malnourished and dehydrated birds.....remember that the flavoring is tailored to a baby's taste and may be rejected by
a bird.....you can mix the solution with Cerelac if you are trying to get nutrition into a bird....

Both times I used a plastic syringe to administer the liquid solution.....

Pedialyte may not be available in Pakistan, but there are similar products, check with a doctor, clinic or pharmacy/apothecary.....

Thanks a lot for your help. Pedialtye is available here. Can you please tell me how much quantity to add in water (1 litre perhaps)?

The times I had to give electrolytes, I would pour it into a table spoon then suck it into the syringe because it did not have capacity markers on it.....I gave that amount every 2-3 hours until the bird would take it from the spoon by itself.....I never added it to water.....

If you do add it to water, watch the bird to make sure it does not stop/refuse to drink.....many birds will not drink from water that has been medicated.....also, be sure to refrigerate the solution after it has been opened, and if you do mix it in drinking water, the mixture should be discarded & the water dish washed in 2-3 hours so that bacteria does not begin to grow.....
