Electus not eating on its own!!!! How!!!

My Electus is 1yr 3mth ….. name Elvis not eating on its own…. I’m still feeding it about 4 time a day….. how do I make it eat on its own??Whatever I place in its bowl or hang the fruits or vegetables it’s doesn’t even touch it!!! Always scream for when it’s the feeding time!!!! What should I do?? Plz help?!?

Welcome and be welcomed.

You don't MAKE a baby parrot transition to solid foods. You let them decide when to do that. Offer solid foods, yes, and eventually the baby will start to refuse formula feeding and start to eat solid foods. Called abundance weaning. It is the absolute best way to wean all baby parrots.

over a year however is awfully old for an eclectus to still be demanding baby food... has he ever been to the vet?

I agree with Owlet. I wonder if there’s some issue causing this bird to not “do well” and to continue to beg for feeding.

At least it would be good to rule out a health problem before trying behavior modification.
