Christie's Auction House, London, is auctioning an Elephant Bird Egg in their Travel, Science & Natural History Auction, on April 24. The Elephant Bird is extinct, lived on Madagascar, and was about 11 feet tall. The egg is listed as Sub-Fossilized, pre-17th century. It is bigger than your head. About 100 times the size of a chicken egg. It is 21cm in diameter, 30cm in height. They expect it to sell for 20,000-30,000 GBP, or $30,000.00-$45,000.00.

Go ahead & bid on it Bill.....if you win the auction, I will be sure to make one of my extremely rare trips to Florida, to look at it.....

if you get the chance, do you mind taking a photo???? I think it would be interesting to see

Hmm get it and incubate it and see if it hatches? I mean it's only like a couple years old probably a lil rotten and such...;)
