Emergency 10 yr old budgie not using legs and sleeping a lot

Please help me. When I woke up this morning and went to feed and water the birds one of my budgies was sitting on the bottom of the cage and moving abound to reach me my using his beak and dragging his legs he seems to have hurt them some how. However it's a public holiday and all the vets are closed so we can't get him to a vet. He is eating millet and drinking water bjt something is wrong. Please help. I be tried phoning a breeder friend but no response yet. I will attach videos and pics. Please help me. I m so scared.

Sounds like he may have had a stroke, which is actually fairly common.

My breeder friend told me put half a capsule of milk thistle in her water. Anyone tried this before?

Aww, bless his heart Do you have a hospital cage that you can move him to so he doesn't fall if he manages to climb the bars?
I have never used milk thistle, but hopefully someone can chime in to help.

Thank you so much Terry. No I haven't and I went out to buy a new cage but all the stores are closed because of the holiday . His mate is feeding and preening him. I just hope he's ok so we can visit the vet at 9 am tomorrow. How are you and your fids?

It seems these things always happen at night or on holidays
Until you can get him separated into a smaller cage, it may help to place a towel or something soft on the bottom of the cage, just in case. I so hope he is going to recover.

Thank you Terry she has a soft towel and is resting comfortably. I ve been checking on her constantly. It's unfortunate these things always happen on public holidays or very late at night. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers. I will keep everyone updated. Have a nice day

Just an update. She is in a hospital cage I set up with the help of a friend. She is resting and is trying to use her legs. She is in a cage without perches as I don't want her falling. I hope she improves. She's been in my life for such a long time. One of my first birds I don't want to lose her

Me too I m sitting by near cage sobbing. And my mum is just saying it's a bird get over it. But it's not just a bird she's my family. She's been with me for so long. I hope she makes it through the night so we can see the vet in the morninng . Please pray for my little girl

I just read your story and it brought tears to my eyes. I know she isn't "just a bird". She's your best friend, a part of your family.

I hope she pulls through, but in the very least, you, her, and everyone here knows that she was loved every day her entire life. And that type of relationship is priceless. Please don't blame yourself, these things happen that we just can't predict/help.
