Extreme Molt in Senegal

Hi All, I am new to your forum and would love if you could help me out. My senegal Mango shook this morning and tiny feathers came off of him in multitude. I see he has a bare spot on his neck. He has never molted this much and especially all at once. Could there be something wrong with him?

Both my birds are in different stages of molting. My P'let has pin feathers mainly on her head and towards her back. Not sure if that's normal but okay. Lots of little downy feathers and green feathers everywhere. My Senegal, every time I look at her she has another feather in her beak, playing with it. Every time she fluffs, poof feathers everywhere. She likes to try and catch them. Kinda funny. I don't see any pin feathers yet, but I know they a coming. Both birds are crabby, and I've notice my Senegal is a little more sleepy, and her appetite has decreased a little. I'm weighing her everyday though and she is maintaining her weight. My P'let is eating like a piggy. But she always eats like a piggy. Does all of this sound normal? It's been a while since I've had a bird that was molting, both will be 6 month old in a couple of days.

Well, all birds are molting right now so that's OK. But there shouldn't be any holes in the plumage (as far as I know, only psittaculas look moth-eaten during molt) and it shouldn't be 'heavy', either. Could you be feeding too much protein? Because that's usually the cause of a heavy molt.

Is there another bird with access to Mango? Assuming it's on a spot of his neck he can't reach himself, someone could have plucked him.
