My spunky little budgie, Fay Wray, had a sudden, completely unexpected stroke on Monday and passed away shortly after. She was only four and I thought I had quite a bit more time with her. I know she’s now with her buddy, Cooper, who passed away less than two months ago but it’s still hard to lose two birds so close together.
Fay was a real character from day one. She was always getting into stuff and giving me mild heart attacks by finding new places to hide. There are a number of books and magazines on the shelves with birdie nibble marks where Fay chewed them. She loved destroying pots of lettuce, sleeping in
Late, flying around the room screaming, and sitting on the windowsill chirping at the top of her lungs just because.
The newer budgies, Buster and Chaplin, have some big feathers to fill now that Cooper and Fay are both gone. ( though the new boys are both already proving to be real characters). Fly free little Fay; you were loved and your big personality will be missed
