Hello everyone! This is my first time owning a bird myself, although we had cockatiel in the home when I was younger. I'm an animal lover and already have a saltwater tank, a panther chameleon and a wheaten terrier. We(my husband and I) just brought our new green cinnamon cheek conure home from a place that specializes in hand fed tame birds. I am a newbie at this and thought it would be a good idea to get on a forum since I have a forum account for chameleons and saltwater fish also:09: I will post pics of the little guy/girl in a bit, We don't know the sex, but we are leaning towards the name Kiwi :):green2:

Hi there Ashleigh, and welcome to the forum. :)

Also, many congrats on your new family member Kiwi. :D

Oh wow, you have a Panther Chameleon??? AWESOME! How difficult is it to take care of him? When you share pictures, could you please include pictures of him as well, AND your saltwater tank, AND your Wheaten Terrier? :54:

Great to have you on board!! :)

Welcome to the forum. :)

I'm sure you'll learn a lot from on here.

I hope to see pictures soon of your little Kiwi. I've wanted a conure for some time but I've never been able to have one due to different circumstances. I just love their playful personalities and if I could I'd kidnap my boyfriend's conure. Needless to say, I'm jealous. :)

Awesome to see another reptile lover!

I've got a pueblan milksnake that we've had since he was a hatchling. Over three and a half feet and still growing.

WELCOME to the forum! Green cheeks are marvelous little clowns you are in for a treat.

Welcome to the forum...I may still have my saltwater reef account active even though I haven't used it in two years. I did saltwater reef tank for awhile before....my partner says no to lizards, bugs, etc....lol

Welcome to our awesome forum

Your chameleon is CUTE!!! Do you have brown diatom going in your tank? Is it rather new? I see you have a pair of Black Ocellaris Clowns, Fire Fish, Coral Banded Shrimp, Blue & Red Mushrooms, Kenya Tree, Green Frogspawn, and Green Duncan. Did I miss anything?? Is that a small clam on the sand bed???

Forgot to say, cute dog and bird too!!! LoL....I kinda sorta miss my tanks....MAY get a Nano around spring as my partner thinks we should have a small one, no big ones anymore!!! Way too much work....

Wow your pictures are amazing. Love the salt tank. Had one of those at one time. Your bird is adorable too. Welcome to this forum.

I miss my tank. We had blue and yellow tangs, clown fish, any many others. Coral, ugh I hated giving it up. So beautiful and relaxing, but a lot of work. :)

It wasn't my corals that I miss, it's my fish....I had all of them since they were babies, one of them was a picasso and onyx mixed clown fish pair, I was the only person that got them at the fish fair one year. They didn't have a lot, I contacted the owner of the breeding farm for them as they know me pretty good. That one baby was less then the size of a Dime and I had to feed him cyclopeeze on a daily basis and watch him grow big. He used to scare the heck out of me since he likes to sleep by the pump, I had one of those vortech pump, powerful powerful pumps....I baby my Naso Tang as he almost died when he was young, I got him very tiny from a website on Saltwaterfish. He got sick and almost died laying on his sides skin and bones. I baby him daily as I come home multiple times per day from work just to feed him garlic formula to boost his immune system. He eats off my hand while laying on the bottom of the tank. He perked up in a few days and within a week he was swimming really good. After a month he was fully recovered. I was able to pet him like you would with a dog. He was pretty big when I sold out my tanks. I was sad to see my fish go as I have many other spectacular expensive fish that went along.....

Great photos, Ashleigh. The chameleon is super cool. I doubt we can get them in Oz.

Beautiful pictures, Ashleigh, thank you so much for sharing. Loki is SPECTACULAR!!!! :32: Is it difficult to care for him?

And I LOVE Ali, Wheatens are such underrated, fantastic dogs!!

Sweet fishtank! Can't say I miss mine....WAY too much work and WAY too expensive to upkeep. (I was running a 220 gallon SPS tank)

And as for Maui/Kiwi/Pickles: AAAAWWWWW!!!!! What a sweetheart!!! :D

Wendy,

I can imagine with all the salt and chemicals you were going through doing SPS. I'm more of a LPS and Zoanthids type of guy. :)

My son is so jealous, as he has been begging for a chameleon for awhile. As he already has a red eared slider turtle and 2 sugar gliders in his room, I keep telling him he has to wait. Maybe for his birthday this October I will shock him with one, that or a trampoline.
