fleas help

I brought my dog to the vet and he came back with fleas. I can't bomb my house at this time of year but was wondering if I use ortho spray if I can put my birds in the other room closed off from main house while I spray. It's too cold to bring them out. The dog has been treated a few times but fleas keep coming back. I put diatomaceous earth down for a few days but fleas still here.

Sorry to hear about your predicament. If you want to get rid of them, you have to break the egg cycle & that means addressing them on a weekly basis.....in 30 days, a few fleas end up being over a quarter million, all in various stages of 7-10 day maturity cycles.....but.....there are over a dozen threads/solutions in the forums' archives, however, I will suggest you read this one first:
